From 1799-1867, Russia owned Alaska. If they want it back, we should give it to them. No sense in sparking WWIII.

A study in the American Economic Review looked at the effect of 2018 tariffs on washing machine prices: Did exporters absorb the cost of the tariff? Answer: they didn't. They passed it all on to US consumers. And it even drove related product prices up. x.com/ernietedeschi/…

So much for "targeted tariffs." This is the trade war that will wreck havoc on prices and the US economy in general. The US imported $974.3 billion worth of goods from Canada and Mexico in 2022. Exports to those countries were $789.7 billion; there will be a retaliation.

Democrats did especially bad in blue cities in blue states and a big reason was failure to address low-level crime & basic public disorder. Working class people pay the price for rampant homelessness and public drug abuse and unenforced law (e.g. theft) in their neighborhoods.

The turn from “we need to be more thoughtful about how the criminal justice system works” to “maybe it’s bad to enforce laws” was really bad and needs to be rolled back ASAP. slowboring.com/p/liberalism-a…

Trump is the first president-elect ever to not sign an agreement that makes transition donations public. That means no one knows who is contributing to his transition, and how much, and it also allows foreign donations. I don't believe even Trump supporters think this is a good…

ICYMI, Russia invaded its neighbor, a European country, and has been bombing and otherwise attacking it for over 1,000 days. Everything Putin does is squarely on Putin's head and nobody else's. x.com/roddreher/stat…

If, God forbid, Russia takes out a European target in response, as Putin promised to do the other night, this will be on the heads of Biden and Zelensky. Putin could not have made it clearer what he was prepared to do if US missiles keep falling.

The Gaetz debacle is the first significant sign that Trumpian incompetence will mitigate Trumpian malfeasance.

If Superintendent Walters really wanted to put Bibles in every classroom, he would have done it. It's not hard or expensive. It would take no more than a few hours of time and a handful of phone calls to secure private funds (maybe $150,000) and the bibles. Instead... 1/3
