In trauma recovery, we don't need "perfection" from our relationships-- we need consistency & good faith. That's true of our relationship w/ other people, & our relationship w/ ourselves-- which is almost always the relationship that trauma damages the most.
It can be confusing & discouraging to trauma survivors how quickly the pipeline from "more or less fine" to "sh*t show meltdown" can happen in our nervous system. You need to know it's not just you-- & we get less vulnerable to it as we work our recovery. You're not hopeless.
I told you Merrick Garland was weak and a coward. You told me he had a secret plan and was playing 3-D chess. I told you Garland was intentionally delaying indictment. You told me "justice moves slow" and "This isn't a Law and Order episode, Don" All the tweets are there.
Getting slapped w/ a "freeze" or "fawn" trauma response is not "letting" something happen to you. Trauma responses are not choices.

Remember - Trump's own former Director of National Intelligence, former Sen. Dan Coats, said he believes Putin has blackmailed Trump and that Trump is compromised.
Trump is not handing Ukraine to Putin for slaughter because he is "misguided" on policy. He's doing it because Putin owns him, he's compromised, and so "logic" and policy arguments are irrelevant.
