The easier it is to hop on a network of bike lanes, the more people ride bikes. Straightforward stuff. Build more bike lanes! 😍🚲

If you dislike traffic calming (LTNs, open streets, etc), don't ask for before/after studies. You're not gonna like the results.

“Policies focused on electric and autonomous vehicles might address climate change, but fail to address the inequitable use of space and access to opportunity. We must ask whether we are improving access for all, or just a privileged few that already enjoy the most mobility?"

Was blown away by how lovely Ghent is on a recent bike tour. Only later finding out about the recent transformation

In 2012, #Ghent Belgium’s bike trip mode share was 22%. They wanted to get it to 35% by 2030. Thru creative, decisive action, they reached 35% by 2019, in 7 years, 11 YEARS EARLY! @Streetfilms tells the #Ghent story that I learned working there in 2019.

The new Irish Rail railcars with multi-purpose area showing their value on a Tralee/Mallow service yesterday evening. These trains previously had capacity for just two regular sized bicycles in fixed racks, now can accommodate quite a few more. irishcycle.com/2022/09/08/fir…

Holding a playstreet is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. Feedback from everyone involved was so positive, and the day was beautiful. But after 4 years of campaigning we have still not got permission to hold a regular event. @DB_AKODS theatlantic.com/family/archive…

can someone tell @BritishCycling ?

I call on advertising & PR companies to stop acting as enablers to planetary destruction by working for the fossil fuel industry. Stop taking on new fossil fuel clients & set out plans to drop your existing ones. They are poisoning our planet & they are toxic for your brand.

We need the next UK Government to give us all freedom to choose how we get about rather than a car being the only option. At @WeAreCyclingUK our new manifesto asks all parties to prioritise 6 things so that #cycling is a real option, especially for local journeys. 🚲

We're calling for cycling and walking to be prioritised in the next government’s plan 🚴‍♂️🌿 Read our 'Freedom to Move' manifesto Check it out: ow.ly/kEOu50Sb024

We’re working with the emergency services who are dealing with an incident involving a freight train at Inverness Depot. All lines to/from Inverness are currently closed, and we’ll share more details as soon as we can.

Cycle infrastructure isn’t just about cities- build it and they will come.

The Netherlands’ rural cycling network could be the eighth wonder of the world: thousands of miles of smooth, signed, scenic, separated paths connecting every remote corner of the country. The result? A cycle tourism industry worth €2.4 billion annually to the national economy.
