As a React Native engineer, I would love to never open Xcode on my machine ever again... or @expo development clients part 2. Let's dive! 🧵🧵🧵

Hot take, but I wish Uber had a filter for no teslas rides. Or at least stopped counting them towards Comfort options. This car seriously sucks for passengers.

With all the problems and adoption quirks @biomejs got, running the whole 20k files (~1.8M loc) check in 3 seconds feels very empowering.

Innovation at its peak!

Introducing React Scan: A drop in script to scan your React app for slow performance and renders Try it now - it's open source!

It's gonna be a dumb question, but did anyone have any success building anything like cache-hit rates on Apollo / Relay clients? I know they are state libraries and not networking, but sometimes I really wonder what the difference would be if we cached pretty much nothing.

Great work @expo! Things I'm very excited about in Expo 52: - React DOM support: A way to x-use react dom (e.g. `<div>`) in your native app. Can be a bridge for migrating more web-first code to native without full rewrite. - New Arch by Default: do I need to say anything? I…

🥳 Today we're announcing the release of 𝝠 Expo SDK 52! It's our biggest release ever, so grab a coffee and check out the release notes ⤵️

Shoot I just realized the filter for @reactjs Compiler needs to include general `.js`/`.ts` files due to hooks. So, our coldstart went from like ~20s to ~5m (it's x15) and warmstart to ~1m (3x) Eh one wide-usage babel plugin makes everything super slow, even when everything…

Any insights on when @reactjs compiler will be available for SWC? Dropping this one babel plugin to our RSBuild config shoots the coldstart from like ~20s to ~3m 😭 PS The warm start is around ~35s... bearable, but still 2x.

We already updated to v1.1 thx to @matheusmichelsz work! This thing continues to impress me each release 🔥 I wish the SWC support was wider, especially for new things coming out still on babel 🥐

Rspack 1.2 is scheduled for release in December and will be 10-20% faster, reduce memory usage and add persistent cache support.

We're approaching migrating our 2M loc codebase to @reactjs 18 again (we already had a few unsuccessful attempts). The thing I don't like about web ⤵️ package.json: ~ 150 dependencies ~ 200 devDependencies ~ 15 custom resolutions Yarn list with depth==0 doesn't even fit my…

It feels like next year I’m gonna switch from Xbox Cloud to Nvidia GeForce one. I don’t have a free game pass anymore as my wife moved from Microsoft, and I it feels like GeForce just got a better selection (especially with RPGs)

This summer been 🔥 with tons of firefighting at work, and then we went to Europe for a month to see our family. Now feels like the time I’m finally getting back to more balanced building / thinking / iterating. I gotta say this year RSPack & Biome have been huge dx enablers!

I’m so hyped about this ski season, supposed to be a good one! 🏂🏔️ One of the those things why I love living in Vancouver 😍 And 🥐s of course!

Ok, we’ve been behind on @expo upgrades for this year. So now the plan is to jump from Expo 48 to 51 🚀 Wish us luck!
