Such a wonderful human and a mentor to so many. I'm fortunate to have spent the last year working with him on one project of many that he cared about...there's nothing for it but to keep going with Jamie's great intellect, accomplishments and clear thinking as inspiration 💚

Gutted by the passing of dear friend, philosopher and guide Jamie Kirkpatrick. He personified geography and was a rare Renaissance Man in the age of specialisation. Grateful to him for introducing me to saltmarshes & much else. Photo @flettsflotsam from recent field trip. ❤️

East Antarctica 38.5C above seasonal average on March 18th. Biggest jump in temperature ever recorded at a met station - anywhere on Earth. Just staggering. Make no mistake. Anything is now possible. And I mean anything. theguardian.com/environment/20…

It's nuts that our governments not only allow, but actively subsidise, native forest logging in Australia. A dying industry with viable alternatives, running at a loss, decimating biodiversity, and being kept on life support by taxpayers. 🫠 #climate #biodiversity #auspol

Your average Bunnings rodent control shelf. Where does all this go? Rats yes, but also possums and frogmouths and powerful owls and boobook!……… We should not have access to these ecosystem destroying chemicals.

Important ongoing #LivingWonders climate litigation in Aust to require the Fed enviro minister to consider the climate impacts of GHG emissions when approving coal mines. Thank you @EJ_Aus & @ECoCeQ

Our client, @ECoCeQ, has taken the Environment Minister @tanya_plibersek and two big #coal companies back to the Federal Court for failing to protect our environment from climate harm.

Eradication of cats has been successful on numerous islands and fenced areas, providing safe havens for native animals (all WA islands are #feralcat free). But to do it, we need all the tools, used appropriately, including targeted use of 1080. theage.com.au/environment/co…

Yes, but we need a new type of carbon credit that's real, permanent, transparent and *not* offsetting fossil fuel use. theguardian.com/australia-news…

We are crowdfunding the completion of this film, which tells, I think, the most important story of our time: how an extreme ideology, funded by billionaires, came to dominate our lives. As we're not funded by billionaires, please help if you can. Thanks! kickstarter.com/projects/eatth…
