Can I just say real quick that Ben Peters is my favorite umpire. Iโve spoke to him a few times for TFHA, but back in 2021 he was an umpire for a particularly bad game with shu and he was literally the nicest guy.
Itโs not a simple matter of throwing everyone together and having a free for all, but it can be done. All 3 teams sitting down for teas (a meal) together after everyone has cleaned up and had time to emotionally regulate after the game is an important step. Also, everyoneโฆ

Having dialogue with coaches after games is one of my absolute favourite parts about hockey culture in the UK. Big ups to the @SwanseaHC and Team Bath staffs both for taking the time after to chat with the umpires and myself (especially when facing a long drive home!). Much toโฆ
Not a good day at the office, so take time to breath and then analyse and look at what we work on next week. @SwanseaHC still a really good talented bunch, so we know have the ability to apply things better. Nice chat with @fhumpires after, insightful and interesting.
Learning point for me: follow-up. I know, obvious AF, but it's easier said than done. Luckily, @SouthCentralHo2 is amazing at structure and we had a thorough debrief that helped me with a couple of ideas I want to use to improve the next one! Want your own Mission-Criticalโฆ
