Shouldn't Ofsted rate all grammar schools 'inadequate' for inclusion? We hope that grammars, and socially selective schools, will be challenged for their poor record on admitting disadvantaged and SEND pupils.comprehensivefuture.org.uk/inclusive-scho…

I am excited to share my first academic publication! We found widespread inadequacies in #menstrualhealth education in English schools inc. a lack of practical information, lateness in the delivery and attitudes which perpetuate stigma. Full paper here: tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

An excellent piece from @jakeanders of @CEPEO_UCL explaining why reforms to school admissions could make a significant difference in equalising opportunities. "Grammar schools are highly socially selective." blogs.ucl.ac.uk/cepeo/2023/05/…

Officially this PhD thesis will be Taylor’s Version🫶🏼✨#EdinburghTStheErasTour

Brilliant from @johnharris1969 "the English school system’s embrace of a model of education that is often based on “attainment”, conformity and old-fashioned discipline seems to be pushing neurodivergent kids out of mainstream settings altogether." tinyurl.com/mr2c5e6b

I've said it before: don't talk about 'belonging' unless your HEI's belonging agenda has a specific focus on dismantling the significant and deep-rooted institutional barriers to disabled students. Disabled students do not belong because we don't do the work to enable this.

Interesting on disabled students' sense of belonging: "[Disabled students are] much less likely to feel they belong, more likely to be lonely, less likely to be happy in higher education and and more likely to say that going to university has made their mental health worse" 1/4
