Why are those tradwife accounts so appealing? Because our profits-over-people economy leaves workers--especially moms--so little time for joy. Like the joy that comes from spending time with loved ones, making your home beautiful, and cooking yummy meals. BUT... 🧵 1/

I see people have a couple of defenses of Scott having worked for the CIA: 1) everyone worked for the CIA at that time/area studies took money from everyone; 2) he was young; he didn't know what he was doing, as he grew older he became a radical. 1/

Seven major labor unions, the UAW, AFA, SEIU, NEA, APWU, UE, and IUPAT have called on the Biden Administration to halt all military aid to Israel

Sorry, didn’t Biden block the U.S. railroad workers’ strike in 2022?

Collective bargaining works. I congratulate @APFAunity, their members, and American Airlines for reaching a tentative agreement that averts a strike, and I thank Acting Secretary Su, Secretary Buttigieg, and others for their work with both sides to secure this agreement.

nah bruh

True, the Democratic Party has moved so far left that the Republican Party is now closest to the center

Really saddened to see this. Thanks for all your massive contributions to the practice and theory of feminist geography, Jan Monk.

Our friend & colleague, U of Arizona feminist geographer Janice Monk, passed away peacefully in Tucson on Friday, July 12th 2024 age 87. Jan was a brilliant scholar & generous mentor, devoting herself to research on gender & support for women & the minoritized in geography. RIP.

Pundits can’t fathom the idea that students are simply *protesting genocide and demanding divestment* because they can’t imagine political action motivated by sincerely held beliefs. They’ve probably never experienced the power and joy of collective action. I feel sorry for them

If you’re faculty at a university where there are protests, remember there are lots of ways to support, publicly & privately, tenured or not. Here’s a few: -Know your faculty rights & rules -Amplify protest info on your social media, privately to colleagues or in class
