Apart from the fact IT IS NOVEMBER! Who thinks this is a good idea?

This will get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Plenty of space available on our Amwell Springs trains tonight. Pay on the train or at the station. The bar will be open at Wallingford Station so pop down for a train ride and a pint from 4pm!

Last day of public trains from Minehead until March 😭 Looking forward to a run on the 'Mighty Minehead Mogul'. Just oiled up underneath, now for a brew!

Coming the the Fireworks in Wallingford tomorrow? Why not make an afternoon of it? We're running regular trains from Cholsey that connect with @GWRHelp services from 1450 until late for the bargain return fare of just £2! All operated by our visiting 'Bubblecar' heritage DMU.

I thought the route was being built/upgraded with all the right clearances for electrification? If so I don't understand why they are going for discontinuous electrification. This will mean any freight on this potentially useful route will have to be diesel hauled.

East West Rail announces plans to use hybrid battery-electric trains with discontinuous electrification. I wonder what trains they will be, when they will appear, and who will operate them? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Delighted to read in the latest @ErlestokeManorF newsletter that 7812 will be returning to the WSR next year and staying until the end of 2027! She's a cracking machine and I look forward to many more turns on her.

Lovely afternoon trip to the seaside on @ErlestokeManorF Pleased to say a new fireman passed his practical assessment - well done David! 7812's last day in traffic on the WSR this year is tomorrow, after which she returns to the SVR for Santa duties.

Always nice to see a 47 out and about on the network. 47773 brought the stock into Didcot from Tysley. Looks nice in two tone BR green.

5043 gets cautiously underway from Didcot with a @Vintage_Trains special for Stratford just now. What a magnificent sight!

Not seen a Castle for too long, so a quick trip to Didcot this lunchtime to see 5043 on a special was a must. By far the best proportioned and prettiest British express passenger locomotive ever produced. Well done Swindon!

GWML traction through the years. I know which I prefer! Don't think any 800s will be around in 80 years.

Well into the autumn of their careers now, the humble but reliable 455. Not had a ride on one for a while, so I was glad when one rolled in on a Reading service at Feltham.
