Some personal news: I'm writing another book! (And then another one after that.) Thank you to everyone who read the first two - you're the reason I get to do more of them.

What do Tony Soprano and Donald Trump have in common? Today in The Bunker @jacobjarv and @davidlitt discuss what The Sopranos can teach us about America’s next president. Including family, loyalty and a few ‘favours’ that can’t be refused. Listen➡️listen.podmasters.uk/BNKR241115Sopr…

They lied about everything

Trump transition co-chair Howard Lutnick — in charge of helping staff the gov if he wins — says he had a 2.5 hour meeting with RFK Jr. who talked about pulling (safe and proven) vaccines from the market. Lutnick says RFK will not be in charge of HHS, despite what RFK said.

Dems have the Senate majority for the next 60-plus days. Use it! Not just to confirm judges. Hold your own pre-confirmation hearings. Foreign Relations on Tulsi Gabbards ties to Russia. Intel Committee onJohn Ratliffe's misconduct on intelligence in Trump's first term. 1/

I was originally going to hold off on commenting on nominations at this stage but I cannot stay quiet here. I don’t need a confirmation hearing to know that Matt Gaetz is not qualified for Attorney General. I will not support his confirmation.

BREAKING: President-elect Donald Trump says he will nominate loyalist Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz to be his attorney general. apnews.com/live/election-…

Who could have seen this coming, other than literally every normie Democrat?

I, for one, am grateful Mitt Romney declined to endorse Harris so he could be part of the conversation about the future of the GOP.

This is ridiculous. RFK Jr would gladly do it for free.

Why do we need a Department of Government Efficiency? In 2020, the U.S. government spent $4.5 million to spray alcoholic rats with bobcat urine.

Just had an interesting, not exactly cheery, conversation with @davidlitt about Donald Trump and The Sopranos. Look out for a nerdy @bunker_pod soon

President Musk will be speaking, and apparently Donald Trump will be there too.

Elon Musk is expected to join former Trump at the House Republican conference meeting this morning, @KateSullivanDC reports.

"Why would I choose the lesser of two evils?" is almost always a really easy question to answer after it becomes too late.

"There is no such thing as the West Bank - it's Judea and Samaria. There is no such thing as settlements - they're communities, they're neighborhoods, they're cities. There is no such thing as an occupation." -Mike Huckabee, Incoming US Ambassador to Israel

I think he’s trolling? But I also think this would be a great idea.

Kamala should still go on Rogan, I bet she'd be pretty funny now that the pressure is off.

As Dems decide what's next- important to listen to candidates who overperformed and were able to win in Trump-held districts. Good look from @adamwren today at a couple of them: @MGPforCongress and @PatRyanUC 🧵

Here's something you can do right now. The next time you buy groceries, take out your phone and get a picture of video of the prices. If you can get the date, even better. A year from now, Trump's going to claim grocery prices are down. We'll have receipts.

In 2020 I was one of 7 dems that won a district that Trump won, so I held a series of listening sessions with people who voted for Trump and voted for me to understand their actions. I reread the transcripts yesterday and much of it felt like it could have been said today. THREAD

I know folks are tired, but i ain’t gonna lie to anyone — funding year-round organizing is vital to our state party having the resources we need to keep building local power in 2025 for municipal races. please consider becoming a *sustaining* donor! ⬇️ NCDP.org/donate

A lot of Dem soul-searching missing the big picture imo. You can't win future elections without fair and free elections to win. Protecting our right to hold leaders accountable is the most important task of the next 4 years, the foundation on which everything else rests.

Just to clarify: this isn’t just the first time since WW2 that all incumbent parties in developed countries lost vote share. It’s the first time since this data was first recorded in 1905. Essentially the first time in the history of democracy (universal suffrage began in 1894).

I've been thinking about this moment a lot over the past two days, and wrote more about it here. Be someone who tries. dlitt.substack.com

Just hit that point on the doors when I began to wonder if everyone’s either voted or not home when I knocked on the door of a voter who didn’t realize she had to vote before work or she’d miss it. Registered two weeks ago. Just cast her first ever ballot, for Harris. Lfg.

There’s a sense of relief - in the media, in the business community, even among some Democrats - that we’re getting a normal transition. But we’re not really. The new rule is that if Republicans win we get normalcy, and if Dems win we get conspiracies, chaos, and maybe violence.
