Cleveland has come out roaring this season, winning its first 13 games in a row. The Celtics are still ascendant in the east, of course, but the Cavs are betting on giving Evan Mobley more offensive duties will take it to the next level. In @TheAthletic: bit.ly/48TTnXZ

Effort was there. Want-to was there. But the Commanders got worked on both sides of the line of scrimmage tonight by the Eagles. They're vastly, vastly improved, but not yet there with the elite teams. Ten days off to get ready for the stretch run, starting with Dallas.

PMers: Joel Embiid was rusty in his season debut Tuesday. But he has to work through it while he, Paul George & Tyrese Maxey find their chemistry together before the playoffs. Of course, Embiid has to also be healthy for the playoffs. In @TheAthletic: bit.ly/4eqmxiF

Joel Embiid made his season debut Tuesday for the 76ers, and the rust showed. But he and they have to work through it to have any chance for their vast offensive potential, with Paul George & Tyrese Maxey, to click in before the playoffs. In @TheAthletic: bit.ly/4eqmxiF

Joel Embiid said he wants to play Wednesday against the undefeated Cavaliers, in the second game of a back-to-back. He and Paul George will first be evaluated by the team’s medical staff Wednesday morning. “It’s not my decision,” Embiid said. “If I can, I’ll be out there.”

PMers: The Commanders couldn't finish Sunday against the Steelers. But if Washington can learn from anyone, it should be Pittsburgh, which has been unwavering in its pursuit of football excellence for most of the last five decades. In @TheAthletic: bit.ly/4fkinKl

PMers: A year after being big sellers on a team going nowhere, the Commanders' complete turnaround – in the front office, in the coaching staff, in the locker room, on the field – gave them the space to swing big on Marshon Lattimore. In @TheAthletic: nytimes.com/athletic/59037…

Wilt Chamberlain was a force unlike any other in NBA history. He was so dominant that it was hard to put his accomplishments into a meaningful context. Chamberlain ranks No. 6 on The Athletic’s The Basketball 100. @davidaldridgedc examines his impact ⤵️ nytimes.com/athletic/58918…

We have released DE Efe Obada

Tell me if I'm wrong, but the Commanders basically traded the lower of their two 2025 third-round picks, John Ridgeway (who they sent to the Saints for the 2025 sixth now going back to NO) and a 2025 fourth for Lattimore and a 2025 fifth? That's...good.
