The people of the Philippines deserve sources of news and information that will tell them the truth. Rappler, and Maria Ressa, tell the truth. Shutting the site down would be a grave disservice to the country and its people.

It was an easy choice. Marcos, with a lot of baggage of unpaid taxes, fake university degrees, bad human rights records, ill-gotten wealth. And Leni Robredo: untainted, no corruption, no fake university degrees, human rights lawyer. It was supposed to be an easy choice.
You know what irks me about a Marcos win? It tells me that no matter how hard you work, how good you try to be, how noble your causes are, a rich spoiled brat can get still his way. I look at the work I have to do in my poor old ordinary life and none of it seem to matter.
