Where should you go for help in the days after rape or sexual assault if you’re not ready to go to the police? SARCS (Sexual Assault Response Co-ordination Service) can help with your immediate healthcare needs and can gather forensic evidence if you decide to report later 🧵
Any man or woman who has experienced domestic abuse have one thing in common. They were abused by someone who chose to abuse them, a deliberate and concise chose was made to abuse them. No one chooses to be abused. #CoerciveControl #DomesticAbuse #Awareness #Impact

I was a guest speaker recently at a domestic abuse event hosted by a charity called Behind Closed Doors. I shared my lived experience to around 30 professionals, including the police. It was such a well received event with lot's of conversations around coercive control.
Today @centreWJ have published a progress report following their 2020 'police perpetrated domestic abuse' super-complaint. But four years on, the full scale of the problem remains unknown, and victims still struggle to achieve justice. This must urgently be addressed. #PPDA
