Maybe one day @Albertadoctors and #ableg will get together and put some effort into #mentalhealth resources . The vulnerable clearly don't seem to matter as much as helping certain segments of society and surgical initiatives. #MentalHealthAwareness globalnews.ca/video/9436346/…

I was going to be smug about RFK Jr as pick for Health czar then I remembered that we have Lagrange as health minister.

Clean air, it isn’t that hard.

Good study on air purification with HEPA-14 filters & acute respiratory infections in a long term care facilities. A larger study with extended follow-up is likely to demonstrate a more substantial benefit in reducing respiratory infections. tinyurl.com/4rfydfp8 by Khadar et…

Asking about COVID should be a part of every psychiatrists' and neurologists' complete assessment and factor into a differential diagnosis. Just cause one didn't have to before, doesn't mean we shouldn't be asking now.

My neurologist doesn’t believe Covid causes brain damage despite the fact that YEARS of studies show it absolutely does, & cognitive disabilities have increased 43% in the U.S. since 2019.

Latest from me on the vaccine distribution saga here in Alberta👇 After shipments to community medical clinics halted in April, triggering months of uncertainty, the AB govt is pulling the plug on vaccine distribution to most community medical clinics. cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

Word of the day is ‘recrudescence’ (17th century): the return of something terrible after a time of reprieve.

I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being an intentional "unintended" consequence given how this govt implements policies with little actual thought.

I honestly am at a loss for what to say… at the UCP AGM they have a motion to de-list (make pt pay) ALL medical services related to “sex alteration”… does this even include psychiatric care??? It’s honestly so ill-informed and insane…

There certainly was no consultation around the policy. Rather govt was interested in how to go about punishing docs who may contravene the policy, essential usurping the role of @CPSA_CA .

There was NO consultation w the profession - perfunctory implementation discussions were had (being generous here) The govt doesn’t even know the “data” and numbers on their own policy. We have a govt that does NOT believe in educational or medical expertise

FOIP Preview! Ok, remember when Smith's office claimed to the globe & mail that her Skybox Sojourn to Vancouver was on personal time and all people paid their own way? We've already demonstrated that was a lie, but it turns out it was a bigger lie! /1 #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

I am sure that the polling was high when the Japanese were interned, Indigenous children were put in residential schools, and we discriminated against gay people. This is why human rights are not put to a majority vote.

Vax and mask. And don’t forget about your HEPA filters.

Worth reading. Please get your C-19 and flu shot. Over the last 2 months Covid mortality is ~ 100 x more than the flu. Only a few % of the population has been vaccinated. C'mon, lets save a few lives here.... cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

Everyone keeps talking about covid becoming endemic, but as I listen to the conversation, it’s becoming more & more clear to me that very few of you know what “endemic” means. So here’s a thread on how pandemics end.
