Mum bought herself a Bank Holiday treat. It’s Tintern Abbey cider. Guillaume le Marechal was William Marshall, the Earl of Pembroke who built the Wexford Tintern Abbey in thanksgiving when his boat was saved. A statue of him was erected at Pembroke Castle in Wales in 2022.

Paid a visit to Colclough Walled Garden in Tintern Abbey recently. Delightful garden with many wonderful flowers, plants, fruit trees & loads of birds, butterflies, bees & pollinators. Restored by a team of #volunteers & well worth a visit. @colcloughgarden

We had a long chat with Mr Alan of the Walled Gardens @colcloughgarden . He's giving a talk @johnstowncastle on Saturday the 17th which will be very interesting. We will learn more about the link between the Colcloughs of Tintern Abbey and the Grogans of Johnstown Castle.
