Dexter Cattle, a rare native breed, have returned to Áras an Uachtaráin. The Dexter Cattle reduce grass on the grounds ahead of the spring and summer allowing for more species to flower, benefitting nature and soil, as well as promoting the genetic diversity of Ireland’s cattle

President and Sabina Higgins this morning rang the Peace Bell at Áras an Uachtaráin as part of the Bells for Peace initiative calling for world peace and an end to war. Church bells across Ireland were rung to coincide with the anniversary of the end of the first World War

President Higgins will this afternoon attend the National Service of Remembrance in St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, where he will lay a wreath in remembrance of all those who have died in war.

An Taoiseach, Simon Harris, visited Áras an Uachtaráin today requesting in accordance with Article 13 of the Constitution, that President Michael D. Higgins dissolve the 33rd Dáil and summon the new Dáil. President Higgins signed the proclamation for dissolution shortly after 2pm
