Dexter Cattle, a rare native breed, have returned to Áras an Uachtaráin. The Dexter Cattle reduce grass on the grounds ahead of the spring and summer allowing for more species to flower, benefitting nature and soil, as well as promoting the genetic diversity of Ireland’s cattle

President Higgins was this afternoon honoured with the Collier de l'Hermine of the Cultural Institute of Brittany at a ceremony at Áras an Uachtatáin attended by the President of the Brittany Region, Loïg Chesnais-Girard, and the French Ambassador to Ireland, Celine Place
A warm welcome to Her Excellency, Betty Escorcia Baquero, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia, and Her Excellency, Nicolette Schreiber, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa, who both presented their Letters of Credence to President Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

President Higgins will this afternoon attend the National Service of Remembrance in St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, where he will lay a wreath in remembrance of all those who have died in war.

An Taoiseach, Simon Harris, visited Áras an Uachtaráin today requesting in accordance with Article 13 of the Constitution, that President Michael D. Higgins dissolve the 33rd Dáil and summon the new Dáil. President Higgins signed the proclamation for dissolution shortly after 2pm
