Today, the flagship paper of the @uk_biobank Pharma Proteomics Project was published in @Nature nature.com/articles/s4158… The results are fully browsable at ukb-ppp.gwas.eu. The underlying protein measures will become available to UKB researchers in the next few weeks.
Proteins, proteins, proteins. How 3,000 blood proteins can help predict 10-year risk of >200 common and rare diseases, beyond genomic markers nature.com/articles/s4159… @uk_biobank @NatureMedicine
Preprint: doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…. Viral infections have been linked to an increased risk for dementia - might SARS-CoV-2 infection also confer an increased risk of dementia in segments of the population?
Our latest #pQTL study using the @seer_bio #proteomics platform just went online in @NatureComms - we share the full MS data on ebi.ac.uk/pride/archive/… Read our paper here: link.springer.com/article/10.103…
HOW DOES THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY discover new drugs and drug targets for Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, cardiovascular disease, +schizophrenia? Dr Chris Whelan talks frankly about large biobanks, whole genome sequencing, proteomics, multi-omics, pQTLs for brain illnesses, and rare…
Congrats @steph_loomis for expertly leading our study of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities in the Ph3 aducanumab (Aduhelm) trials. This is the first study to systematically evaluate ARIA via GWAS & exWAS, with breakdowns by severity & APOE genotype. neurology.org/doi/10.1212/WN…
I am super-excited to see this collaborative manuscript now out: Genetic determinants of blood gene expression and splicing and their contribution to molecular phenotypes and health outcomes! Pre-print: medrxiv.org/content/10.110… Data portal: intervalrna.org.uk
Extremely excited to share our latest preprint from @uniofexeHLS Here, we combine the Proteomic data from UK Biobank @uk_biobank with whole-genome-sequencing data, in order to gain an insight into the role of the non-coding genome for common traits biorxiv.org/content/10.110… (1/x)
Incredibly excited to share our work using the UK Biobank Pharma Proteomics Project (UKB-PPP) data and other efforts in tonight’s #ASHG23 plenary session!! Come check it out! @OlinkProteomics
Due to a server issue, the UKB-PPP pGWAS website is currently accessible to EU scientists only. @_MatthiasArnold & team are working to resolve the issue ASAP.
Reminder - all results from the UKB-PPP protein GWAS can be browsed and downloaded at: ukb-ppp.gwas.eu Full credit to Nick Lehner, @mwoerhe, @KastenmullerLab, @_MatthiasArnold & @ksuhre for building a beautiful interface.
13 pharma companies have studied thousands of blood proteins from 54,000 people in the UK Biobank and uncovered a treasure trove of new leads on drug targets and biomarkers. My story on this massive #proteomics effort for @endpts: endpts.com/pharma-proteom…

Join us TODAY! @chrisdwhelan presents on the Global Neurodegeneration Proteomics Consortium (GNPC). And Keenan Walker, and @ccrugom discuss high-plex protein profiling in #neuroscience research. Registration: nature.com/articles/d4422… #Alzheimers #biomarker
Simple blood test to predict risk of ‘every disease’ a step closer. @kayaburgess brilliant piece on the @uk_biobank proteomics release - the biggest study on proteins circulating in the blood ever thetimes.co.uk/article/79f695…
Nature research paper: Plasma proteomic associations with genetics and health in the UK Biobank go.nature.com/3F2KddH
It is proteomics day! The UK Biobank pharma proteomics project (PPP) has borne its fruits today as three parallel publications in @Nature from researchers across industry and academia. Can't wait to dive into these papers. Congratulations to everyone involved 👏👏👏…
Thrilled to see our paper on rare variant associations with plasma protein levels in the @uk_biobank published in @nature today nature.com/articles/s4158… Summary statistics are publicly available at azphewas.com and an interactive portal astrazeneca-cgr-publications.github.io/pqtl-browser/i…
📰 Published in @Nature today: 13 leading biopharmaceutical companies have collaborated to create the world's largest proteomic dataset using UK Biobank blood samples, forming the most detailed study of how genetics & proteins influence disease.
Super excited a series of THREE @UKBIOBANK #proteomics papers are now online on @Nature! nature.com/articles/s4158… - flagship paper and two sister companion pieces: nature.com/articles/s4158… and nature.com/articles/s4158… - Herculean team effort across so many teams! More to follow.
