We hold the holotype of the infamous southern blue-ringed octopus @Museum_Cardiff! Living in rockpools in southern Australia they don’t look very threatening, but their venom can kill a human, so beware! #WorldOctopusDay #CephalopodAwarenessWeek 🐙

Giant squid radula, a sort of tongue with small teeth (gastropods have them too). Feels a bit like a cat's tongue. This helps push food down the oesophagus, which passes through the centre of the doughnut-shaped brain.

Brooding Squid ~ Gonatid females have small hooks on arms, used to carry up to 3,000 eggs until young hatch+swim away. As squid swim, water is slowly pumped through egg clusters, presumably to keep eggs supplied w/ fresh water+oxygen #PescaderoVentDiving2 youtu.be/ZCOd96ybvtU

You are absolutely right. But the abstract deadline is Oct 31st.

I think registration STARTS on 1st Nov, instead of being the deadline.

So sorry. Forgot to add in the link. Not sure how to pay but I’m sure you could email the organizers for more information. 🐙🦑 ciac2022.com/call-for-abstr…

🦑🐙 Reminder, deadline for abstract submissions for CIAC 2022 (in Portugal and virtual) is tomorrow (Oct 31st) and registration deadline is Nov 1st! 🐙🦑
