Among the world’s tallest trees and biggest ocean, the largest birds in North America are soaring in Northern California after a 130-year absence. This is the story of their return, and the humans behind it. From me @KashaPatel @melinamara washingtonpost.com/climate-soluti…
It’s Election Day, and members of @PostGuild are working diligently from all sides of the company to keep you informed. The past few weeks have been tough, but we hope you will support us by continuing your @WashingtonPost subscription so we can continue to do this important work
Sure, chasing butterflies is fun. But wait until you see what @MJ_Coren @byaliceli @StellaKalinina and @hailey_haymond captured in this piece about searching for moths in the Mojave Desert: washingtonpost.com/climate-enviro…
Marty Baron on the consequences of cancelling subscriptions
We're approaching 10,000 letters sent to Washington Post management over last week's decision to end endorsements. Will you add yours? actionnetwork.org/letters/send-a…
My mom just told me she cancelled her subscription to The Washington Post. She reads every one of my stories. It was a heartbreaking call. I understand why she did it, but I asked her to reconsider. To anyone who has cancelled or is thinking about cancelling, here’s what I said:
The Washington Post editorial board as an entity did not endorse, but this just published from eight of our most prominent columnists.
Regardless of what appears on opinion pages, the news reporting is strong, speaks truth to power and uncovers things you won't read elsewhere
Are you a Washington Post reader concerned with today’s decision for the Editorial Board to not endorse a candidate this election cycle? Send a letter to CEO and Publisher Will Lewis and Editorial Page Editor David Shipley: bit.ly/3C0oLrx
A statement from Post Guild leadership on the Washington Post's decision to not endorse a presidential candidate
On political endorsement wapo.st/3YmeD3T This is cowardice, with democracy as its casualty. @realdonaldtrump will see this as an invitation to further intimidate owner @jeffbezos (and others). Disturbing spinelessness at an institution famed for courage.
We won a Pulitzer for public service for our coverage of the Jan. 6 insurrection
NEWS: The Washington Post will not be making an endorsement in this year's presidential race, the editor of the editorial pages has told colleagues at a tense meeting this morning THREAD AND LINK: npr.org/2024/10/25/nx-…
1/ Now that I’m an editor, I usually only write one story per year. So for my 2024 offering, I journeyed to Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge with @vanhoutenphoto and @byaliceli to show what’s at stake – on both sides – when it comes to oil drilling washingtonpost.com/climate-enviro…
One week after Helene hit western North Carolina, volunteers are still trying to bring food to hungry, stranded people — by foot, by ATV, even by horseback. @dino_grandoni and @byaliceli with words, photos and video from a still-devastated Appalachia. washingtonpost.com/climate-enviro…
Incoming Post editor tied to self-described ‘thief’ who claimed role in his reporting wapo.st/3Vu7PQ6
An astounding look at just how dang small plastic can get and what happens when they end up inside of our bodies. Incredible visualizations and explanatory reporting from @Ducroquet @shannonosaka and the rest of the climate team wapo.st/3xlA4se
Just published! We are constantly breathing tiny plastics around us. We show here what happens when they get inside our bodies! with @shannonosaka
Exclusive: For decades, Catholic priests raped or molested Native American children who were taken from their homes by the U.S. government and forced to live at remote boarding schools, a Post investigation found. wapo.st/3yB2VZT
Incredible reporting by @ReisThebault @byaliceli on the strange wildflower year happening now in Death Valley. “The thing about a super bloom is it forces you to realize the abundance of life that’s actually here.” washingtonpost.com/nation/2024/04…
Heart-wrenching @latimes reporting from the Navajo Nation, where many Indigenous families lack access to clean drinking water even as big-city houses and massive cattle farms suck the Colorado River dry. This graphic by @lamarr_lemee tells the story well. latimes.com/environment/st…
Deadly police chases are killing record numbers of Americans. The vast majority of people killed are suspected of only a minor crime, or no crime at all. Read our investigation: sfchronicle.com/projects/2024/…
