Hot take … #StartupLife

When you built a career doing tech talks on design patterns, clean code, and test driven development. But then you take a CTO role at a hot startup built entirely using PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript.

Driver: I drove my car off a 100 ft (35 m) cliff and the car saved my life. Me: why? Driver: ( … because … ) Me: did car warn you, slow down, or attempt to brake? Driver: No Driver: Not buying anything else.

This Tesla Model 3 crashed down a 100ft cliff and landed vertically on its nose in 2021. All four people inside the car were able to extract themselves from the wreck. I will never drive my family around in anything but a Tesla, they make the safest vehicles in the world — by…

It’s insane how many people keep paying 4x more than they have to, just to HEAT/cool their homes. Heat pumps do both, unlike combusting fuel for heat.

Heat pumps are the most efficient heating technology ever invented. They provide 4x more heat for the same energy input. That’s because they use the energy input to compress and transport pre-existing renewable heat rather than burn a fossil fuel.

30-40% of fossil fuel energy is consumed in transportation of fossil fuel energy. Moving to more efficient energy sources, reduces fossil fuel use both directly, and indirectly. Lots of steel to become available for recycling. (perhaps to build rockets?)

More than a third of the world’s commercial shipping capacity carries fossil fuels, including: 🛢️13,000 oil tankers 🚢 3,000 LNG/LPG tankers ⛏️2,500 bulk carriers transporting coal A large proportion of the world’s shipping fleet are ghost ships in the making, even if their…

⚡️ THIS … for #EVchargjng, it’s the availability of individual stalls, or charging posts that matters for availability and reliability metrics. Any metrics that don’t provide this level of granularity are garbage.

But it's not 99% lol that's the POINT. Actual stall reliability is the key metric

Interesting how poll watchers DO NOT account for RELATIVELY. They view poll age groups as ABSOLUTE groups over time, PROBLEM is not same people (groups) being polled in different election cycles. Different groups. eg: those now 21-25 years where 17-21 in 2020, and 13-17 in 2016.

Real question: this based on exit polls right? And exit polling data that’s accurate takes time because it needs to be linked to who actually voted. Or am I missing something? All I’m saying is don’t we have to wait a bit to make extrapolations ?
