As the nation breathes a sigh of relief of an election that is over, don’t forget that thousands of election officials still have weeks of work ahead of them to process ballots and certify results. They are the heroes! #electionlaw #gapol

During the Renaissance, people in Venice would vote by dropping little balls into an urn. The Italian word for “little ball” is ‘ballotta.’ Now any kind of secret voting, by ball, piece of paper, or voting machine, is called a ‘ballot.’

A happy Election Day to all who celebrate. Go vote! #electionlaw #gapol

Everyone else: I’ll be so glad when the election is over tomorrow! Election lawyers/election administrators:

It’s always a question at this time of year: no, you can’t pay someone for voting or for registering to vote, whether that’s $1 million or a free donut. Make sure you stay on the right side of the law as we move toward November 5! #electionlaw #gapol ajc.com/politics/polit…

For those that claimed Georgia election laws were Jim Crow 2.0 and those that say democracy is dying…the voters of Georgia would like to have a word. Over 300,000 votes cast today! That’s 123% higher than the old record for the 1st day. Great job counties & voters.

As of 4pm we have crossed the quarter million mark with 251,899 votes cast. Spectacular turnout. We are running out of adjectives for this. Proud of our elections team w/ @GaSecofState, the counties great work, and most importantly, the voters doing their job and showing up.
