I have focused my career on frailty & on learners (students, pre-residents, post-docs, residents, etc.). This project focuses on mentorship of learners. Perfect fit with this year's @AANSNeuro theme focusing on mentorship. @MichaelCovell_ did an amazing job with this vital…

It’s been an incredible honor to work with the legendary Johnny Delashaw & @moisimd, building a complex cranial practice @HurleyMedical’s neurosurgical center. Peter’s leadership w/ the App’s has been terrific. @BowersNsgyLab publications is increasing annually. #frailtyfighters

Huge honor to have worked with so many amazing Orhto applicants! All #Orthopedics residencies should take note of @nithingupta0210 in this year’s orthopedic surgery #match2025. Amazing leadership & productivity #frailtyfighters

Incredibly proud of the work being done by @ReamOrtho investigating the role of #frailty in orthopedic surgery! Grateful for the mentorship, guidance, and support of @bowersbrainsurg and our amazing mentors who make this possible.

🚨HUGE congratulations to Victor Koltenyuk and Zachary Chanmin on being selected to present their research on frailty in tibial plateau fractures and orthopedic trauma at the 2024 New England Orthopedic Society Fall Meeting!

Huge 🙏 to @ABC12WJRT for letting us talk about aSAH & cerebral aneurysms on their live news for Medical Monday: Diagnosing an aneurysm abc12.com/video/medical-… via @https://twitter.com/ABC12WJRT #aneurysms @HurleyMedical #frailtyfighter @BowersNsgyLab

We are all very proud of you here @BowersNsgyLab You are a great leader & #frailtyfighter in Nigeria 💪 keep up the great work

I'm glad to present my research on frailty at the Nigerian Academy of Neurological Surgeons Conference 2024 and also have 7 poster presentations. I appreciate Dr Bowers @bowersbrainsurg and Bowers lab @BowersNsgyLab for being frontiers in frailty in Neurosurgery

💯 - mean relative citation ratio (mRCR) & Arms Race Control Score (ARCS) -2 metrics faculty/students/residents should prioritize over quantity. Don’t dilute your impact w/ low quality pubs that can now negatively impact you. Huge 🙏 to @nsurgchick @ClemensSchirmer @CNS_Update

In @CNS_Update’s Congress Quarterly, we discuss conserving the neurosurgical publication environment amid pressures to publish across the neurosurgical education spectrum. mRCR and ARCS offer solutions - incentivize research quality and contribution over quantity. 📄🌎

Way to see this all coming. Great call predicting this inevitable collapse all the way back to when signaling started. Impressive 🫡 Is it just time to modernize and have job interviews like every other profession?

This is big.

Not a surprise …tremendous leadership! Congrats!

WFNS Journal is making great progress

💯. Once you realize that you can do cutting edge research & advance science outside of the framework & construct of traditional academia, you will be shocked at how rapidly you can achieve breakthroughs & major successes. It favors the current dynamic pace of AI & science

we’re not quitting science, we’re quitting academia. I am still very much in science and will remain here forever

Thank you so much for your kindness. Looking forward to helping support your work in any way that frailty can help! Excited to watch your tracking technology grow!

Thank you Dr. Bowers. Your talk on frailty was amazing. Would love to collaborate! @PennNSG

2 KEY concepts -both very well organized/presented. WAY too many meetings/journals/costs in organized Neurosurgery. The ArmsRaceControlScore for in-residency publications predicted academic career, but demographics or overall publications did NOT! Amazing work @MichaelCovell_

Grateful to @CNS_Update to discuss costs of organized neurosurgery during the @councilsns advocacy & value session. ARCS of residency publications, not total publication count, predicted academic careers. Thank you @bowersbrainsurg for your mentorship & presenting on my behalf.

so rare, but so cool to see when it happens in pro sports. Undervalued teams just getting hot are so fun to watch

ABSOLUTELY INSANE! MOTOWN MAGIC, BABY! 🐅

Great work presenting these excellent findings by the team! Impactful science combining RAI with nutrition!

Thank you @CNS_Update @bowersbrainsurg for the opportunity to present during today’s Spine Sunrise Session🩻🌅 Key Point: A Novel RAI-GNRI Model demonstrates superior predictive performance for postoperative outcomes in patients undergoing spine surgery (C-stat: 0.882) #2024CNS

Took me a long time to learn how to study best. Didn’t learn until the last preclinical year…maybe I would have learned a lot earlier if I had seen how other people were learning. But I haven’t seen these videos specifically. I just know I did it wrong for way too long.

Do med students find Youtube and TikTok videos from other med students helpful? There are so many “day in the life” or “here’s how I study” videos out there. Is there a real demand for these?

Love it!

y'all accept late submissions?

Phenomenal - one of the greatest ones. Taking off & thriving under your mentorship!

4th consecutive @BowersNsgyLab team lunch of #frailtyfighters. The lab has grown so much from the original 2017 start @nymcbrainspine & finally settled in @HurleyMedical now. Will become an official 501(3)(c) this year, to continue frailty, the data science, & mentoring.
