I do this all the time. It provides more information (timestamp) than a simple true flag. For example emailVerifiedAt instead of isEmailVerified. Now you could also measure the time between signup and email verification. Works only with booleans that can't turn false tho.
My fav anti-under-engineering trick is to use timestamps instead of booleans in the database. that way you know when it was set to true super useful for debugging later
