Over 40 years ago, Exxon's top scientists internally warned the company that climate change could lead to "catastrophic" weather events. Now those fossil-fueled catastrophes are playing out before our eyes. heated.world/p/how-fossil-f…

Btw, the original first sentence I drafted for this... "It's raining, it's pouring, the climate crisis ain't snoring." Thanks very much to my editor @NRiveraBrooksLA for axing that.

I know I'm a broken record at this point. But it has to be said... If you're not a fan of this storm, it's time to get serious about climate change. My latest Boiling Point column (and news roundup!) for @latimes: latimes.com/environment/ne…

Prefer to watch your climate news instead of reading it? Well you're in luck - I've partnered with @nowthisnews for a 10 episode series turning HEATED articles into short videos. Here's episode four, on the "climate-friendly" beef coming to a store near you

The storm in NYC was record-breaking, and the flooding was catastrophic. But it's technically a *mild* flood by NOAA's standards. So I wrote about how we need to accept that climate catastrophes are normal now so we can do something about them heated.world/p/technically-…

This is incredible.

Students at @Stanford are calling out hypocrisy for Big Oil's funding of their @stanforddoerr School of Sustainability. Please share and support them. They might be in trouble.

The first global temperature data is in for the full month of September. This month was, in my professional opinion as a climate scientist – absolutely gobsmackingly bananas. JRA-55 beat the prior monthly record by over 0.5C, and was around 1.8C warmer than preindutrial levels.

In my vertical video era and using it to explain Big Oil paltering!!

Don’t be fooled by oil companies’ selective micro-truths in their climate change ads — here’s what they’re intentionally leaving out while claiming to make greener moves (with @emorwee + @ariellesamuel) See more: go.nowth.is/heated-big-oil
