During a leadership conversation today I mentioned being aware of my Blackness no matter the space… one example I used was always feeling the need to “dress up” in order to be heard… No way a POC could dress like this and be taken seriously!
I really don’t care who gets triggered by me bringing race into this. The truth is, no woman of color could possibly dress like this, and act like this, and be taken seriously, much less elected. I suspect every Black woman and Latina reading this knows what I’m talking about.
This was an enlightening talk. Good to see so many people on campus interested and involved.
