Pretty neat that I got the opportunity to share the work we're doing with the #NorthernCardinals here in #Montreal 🐦 Excited to work with our feathery friends again this upcoming winter! ❄️🙌

A great video of @anne_marie_bio's research on cardinals in and around Montreal.

@ArcticEcology @barbalink

Adults in 🇨🇦 neighborhoods with a higher diversity of trees and #birds report better mental health. No surprises here. I mean, just look at this northern cardinal (one of my favourite urban birds) and tell me you don't feel all warm and fuzzy. #nature #mentalhealth

🐦🌳Increased bird and tree diversity is associated with better self-rated mental health among adults in Canadian cities. @buxton_rachel @emmajhudgins @Joe_Ecology @pjvilleneuve @SPrinceWare @TanyaHalsa #mentalhealth 🔗 New study here: nature.com/articles/s4324…

Impressive bee guide for @McGillMacCampus created by undergrad Amicie Lavault. I might even be able to identify insects correctly for once! #wild421 High res version: shorturl.at/jlEIL

Heartbreaking but critical work for #bird (and #bat!) conservation by @LysykStasha is just starting working on #birdwindowcollisions in #Ottawa.

first day of surveys in downtown and found 6 collisions, watched another one happen before it flew away, and four of them were precious yellow bellied sapsuckers. but!! did manage to save both a crown creeper and a big brown bat and get them to rehab centres!

After working with Northern Cardinals for now 6 months it’s nice to hear them sing again in the city! Spring is definitely on its way 🌸🪺🌳😄

Happy first day of spring (apparently) everyone! No flowers in Mtl but the Northern Cardinals are singing their spring songs. Happy to be featured on @ECCCSciTech spring banner along with @anne_marie_bio & our feathered friend (subject of her MSc research)
