a few bits from yesterday morning, 2x spot fly from reap lane, interesting how warm brown and lightly marked the more distant one was, also an odd dark pigeon/dove, melanistic stock dove? my first barrel jellyfish of year, hardly showed quite submerged

raptors probably our best bet on portland next couple of days i guess

Perhaps the most amazing morning's birding I've had in mainland Britain yesterday at Stodmarsh, still kind of reeling from it. Thread 1/n Lots of Hobbys moving early and by the end of the morning totalled over 30.

anyone fancy this on portland ;)

The Black-winged Kite was again on Alderney this afternoon, 3 weeks since the 1st sighting, likely to be the same bird. Today located by Elliot Montieth it showed well for over an hour before gaining a lot of height and heading SW towards Guernsey just before 4pm. Photos JH
