Question for GPU wizards: in the video 1000 pieces = 1000 draws. Can I use instancing to optimize it? I plan to merge 20-30 meshes into 1, select the right one by index (range), skip the render in the vertex shader by setting the position behind the screen. Would this idea work?

We want to make PBR a first class feature in Defold, which means that we want to move GLTF material properties into shaders. Todays work-in-progress towards that goal is to support generic structs as uniforms for all backends. #gamedev #madewithdefold

The instancing work we did for 1.9.4 is paying off, great work Igor!

Ok, I jumped back to the prototype. The new version of Defold has models instancing and I used this feature to add trees, grass and their reactions to the character. Work in progress. Made with #Defold and #Blockbench

I like Defold Editor Scripts and UI more and more Created a universal converter for sound files utilising powerful FFmpeg! You can batch select any type and convert it to Defold compatible formats. 🎶

My new cyberpunk adventure game "Neon Lies" is now out on Game Jolt: gamejolt.com/games/neon-lie… It's a slightly updated version, with some fixes/improvements, like support for touch screens and phones (which was accidentally broken). I'll upload these improvements to itch soon too
