Excited to share that the first batch of my PhD research has been published in @Structure_CP This was a great team effort led by myself and @SushantSuresh29 This work has a special place in my heart as it is my first cryo-EM structure (s/o to @hr_mem).

Online now! Structure of calcineurin bound to PI4KA reveals dual interface in both PI4KA and FAM126A dlvr.it/TCZXK1

En route home from the @FASEBorg #Phospholipids meeting in Minnesota. Was great to catch up with old friends and meet new ones! It was great to give a short talk and receive a @Co_Biologists trainee award for it! Huge thanks to the organizers. I ❤️ phospholipids

When you do too much #cryoEM (sound ON!) #research #pedro #racoon

Wondering how PI4KA gets recruited to the plasma membrane where its substrate is?? Check out our new preprint for the molecular details!!

Delighted to share a preprint of one of the stories from my PhD research. A lot of fascinating structural and cellular data to explain how membrane protein EFR3 recruits PI4KA to the plasma membrane - Big step in understanding PI4KA regulation. Awesome team work @alexlouiseshaw

Beyond grateful to have received a @CIHR_IRSC Doctoral Research Award supporting my structural and biochemical studies on phosphoinositide kinases!

Excited to share a preprint of some of my PhD research. We used cryo-EM and HDX-MS to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of Calcineurin binding to the PI4KA complex - another important step in figuring out how PI4KA is regulated. A great team effort! @SushantSuresh29

Trainee: Do you have a minute? PI: I actually have to run to a meeting now. Trainee: Oh okay. I just finished graphing these data and wanted to show you, but that can wait until- PI:

My first @ASBMB #DiscoverBMB was wonderful. I met some amazing people, gave my first talk, and discussed some fascinating #biochemistry. And my fridge is now stocked up with frozen #TraderJoe’s meals #IYKYK. Overall, a major success!!

My first, first-author paper was published in @Structure_CP today! Using HDX-MS, we found that ATP-competitive and allosteric inhibitors distinctly alter Akt1's autoinhibitory interface. Interested? I'm giving a short talk on this work @ #DiscoverBMB (03/27). Come and say hi! 😀

My new year's resolution is 300 DPI because this is required for figures in manuscripts for many academic journals

Last week I attended my first @FASEBorg Phospholipids Conference (and first ever conference!!!) over in Jupiter, Fl. I learned copious amounts about phospholipids, met incredible people, received great advice, and came home with quite the sunburn.

Monkeypox is now in Canada with 17 suspected cases in Quebec. Here’s what we know so far. The WHO has confirmed cases in the U.S., U.K., and Northern Ireland. Public health officials have also reported cases in Portugal and Spain. torstar.co/5Gyq50JcpLw
