I’m beyond proud of this manuscript published in ⁦@NatureComms⁩. We identified a mechanism behind muscle stem cell defects in DM1 and demonstrated that we can target these defective cells to restore myogenesis. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Excellent first day back at work after my maternity leave. Congratulations @VicMuscleNet for this great symposium!

A great way to kick off this year’s VMN Symposium with an excellent first Keynote (zoom) presentation from Dr Sarah Lessard from @JoslinDiabetes on “How metabolic disease impacts muscle remodeling with exercise” #VicMuscleNet #myotwitter #exercise

Using skeletal muscle biopsies in vitro, McIlvenna et al. show that elevated circulating TGFβ1 may explain the impaired adaptation to exercise in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, which is associated with elevated androgen levels. Full story 👉 buff.ly/3AVAJjN
