The first time I met @BenFerencz, he told me his life story: immigration and poverty followed by attending Harvard, serving in WWII, prosecuting Nazis, raising a family and never giving up fighting for a more just and peaceful world. He will forever be an inspiration.

Women should have equal rights in #Afghanistan: "I won't shut up about it" @Xavier_Bettel #UNGA79 @LuxembourgUN @MFA_Lu
My #UNGA message to member countries this year: Let’s move our world towards less impunity and more accountability. Less inequality and more justice. Less uncertainty and more opportunity.
The state of our world is unsustainable due to impunity, inequality & uncertainty. I told world leaders at #UNGA that we can’t go on like this. The people of the world are looking to us. Let them find us on the side of shared values & principles & on the right side of history.
Strongly echo @UN Secretary-General’s headline focus on impunity in his #UNGA79 speech: “The level of impunity in the world is politically indefensible and morally intolerable” To reinforce #UN Charter, strengthen Int’l Law and protect Human Rights, must ensure #accountability
