Glitch is working to support Black women candidates across all parties this election. All politicians, especially Black women candidates, should be able to affirm and be held accountable to, their political views, without being attacked or abused on the basis of their identity.

Utterly depressing that I end up writing a version of this story at every election, because the issue continues to get worse: theguardian.com/politics/artic…

Meanwhile, a British woman of Asian heritage who carried a satirical placard depicting PM Rishi Sunak and former home secretary Suella Braverman as coconuts has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

A sad piece but worth a read if you're thinking about how to fact check what we're seeing online. Understanding the extent and importance of the "information war" is essential to all of us.

When two 4-year-old boys were killed - one Palestinian, one Israeli - their deaths were denied on social media. I’ve investigated what happened to Omar and Omer, tracking down family, friends & witnesses, distressed by posts. Symbolic of information war. bbc.co.uk/news/world-mid…

This doesn't even feel real. After YEARS of work we're finally seeing the #OnlineSafetyAct come into law. So proud of @GlitchUK_ for ensuring online gender based violence is part of the law. But, there are still so many ways the Govt let society down with this. Still, we move!

The #OnlineSafetyAct is officially law. It is vital that the spirit of collaboration that has made the Act possible is sustained, in order to bring about its effective implementation. This Act, like any other, is only as strong as its enforcement. glitchcharity.co.uk/online-safety-…

I DID NOT WANT TO START AN ORGANISATION. I needed a job. Couldn't get one. I knew this was a systemic, not individualised issue. So tried to build a systemic beyond-the-self response that recognised our collective struggle for our sustained capacity

Must be irony?

In the future, once the robustness of our models will exceed some threshold, we will have *wildly effective* and dirt cheap AI therapy. Will lead to a radical improvement in people’s experience of life. One of the applications I’m most eagerly awaiting.

Seeing good news from Brazil after the last few years genuinely the biggest relief and joy. There's still a lot of issues, especially around indigenous rights and land but so glad to see this.

Brazil's Indigenous communities have celebrated a Supreme Court decision that will safeguard their ancestral lands from mining, drilling, and agriculture ⤵️
