Walking into a shrink’s office for the first time at 15 years old was probably the worst decision of my life. I lost all connection to my true self. I let the DSM define who I was. Psychiatry completely controlled how I viewed myself and what I was capable of.

“It’s important to seek professional help” is probably the worst “mental health” advice I’ve ever gotten. I wish instead someone had said “listen to yourself, trust yourself, think for yourself.”

Telling someone to simply, “stop,” or even worse, forcing them through “treatment” to stop always has an antithetical response. The times special people had shown curiosity and empathy towards my suffering is when I actually calmed down to a degree.

I wonder what this help says of a society that feels unsafe witnessing somebody else suffering so much. That the suffering person has to be caged, and hidden, so as to ease the suffering of witnessing.

People often feel relieved & comforted by a psychiatric diagnosis, but I think it’s, by and large, a false comfort: the comfort of thinking one’s problems have been explained or illuminated, rather than just redescribed in medical jargon.

People speak about "my depression" or "my anxiety" like it's something special to them and lies dormant for periods of time... just ready to come out. Medical professionals say the same thing... I see you have "had depression" .. are you seeing a therapist? Its weird

The 20th century is filled with cases of people doing evil acts while believing they had amazing intentions. If someone says they have good intentions, I don’t know how much that matters. What matters is good deeds and results.

I want to see a study of people who have “mental illness” and the percentage of them that have a parent/parents who absolutely never apologize.

Not all psychotic experiences are "symptoms of an illness". My colleague @SusanHannanPhD is researching this phenomenon & is particularly interested in speaking w/ people who have recovered from their psychosis and/or mania by finding meaning in their experience (e.g., finding a…

Proud to say my local news station is the first mainstream American live television network to report on PSSD. #pssd #mentalhealth

Sexual dysfunction is a common side effect of some antidepressants, even after stopping the medication. A psychiatrist explains what patients may want to consider. nbc4dc.com/lJCyvrW

The American mainstream media is finally noticing Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (#PSSD). @nbcwashington's Eun Yang (@eunyangnbc) interviewed psychiatrist Dr. Joshua Weiner about the risk of antidepressants causing potentially indefinite sexual dysfunction.

Hey @US_FDA @FDA_Drug_Info @FDArecalls we are still waiting on you. #pssd #informedconsent

Any Psychiatrist that denies this now is acting outside the evidence base and in clear violation of ethical practice

We became 'asexual' after taking antidepressants for just a few WEEKS - now our genitals have shrunk and we're worried we'll never have sex again trib.al/RNh2xBe

📢📢📢📢📢📢 @abcsoka @US_FDA @FDArecalls @FDA_Drug_Info

We're suing the FDA. For 6 years now, they are refusing to act on warning labels for antidepressants. These antidepressants may cause permanent sexual dysfunction. Hey FDA: Do your job!

📣🙌📣🙌 Say it louder for the people in the back! Unresolved trauma➡️hunger for power➡️taking it out on vulnerable individuals. Many of the people you meet in positions of power take those because they have ulterior motives and are experts at convincing others they are empaths.

A lot of the people I experienced who work with children in so-called mental health treatment believe their work is “rewarding” when it’s really that they are just addicted to the power. You could feel it.

The problem with CBD is this: It assumes that all you need to do is to appeal to the person's conscious mind and convince it to think differently. But the problem with the person is NOT the conscious mind, it is something that is BELOW their awareness that is interjecting itself…

Quitting psych drugs and leaving the MH industry’s indoctrination behind to return to your true self is like slowly waking up from a coma. That person was never the real you, they were just high the whole time. I became a bottle of pills and pseudoscientific DSM labels.

#science People who lost their ability to feel or demonstrated diminished ability to access emotions also demonstrate impairments in decision making. Drugs that blunt or impair our ability of feel the full range of emotions have serious consequences. Mental health is not…

Nearly half of patients prescribed SSRI's report emotional blunting... including positive emotions. Diminished empathy & feeling detached from others. According our medical establishment... blunting of emotions is "mental health treatment". Resist

Brilliant obfuscation by @awaisaftab to try to create illusion that psychiatry’s simplistic, pessimistic, stigmatising, unsubstantiated ‘medical model’ doesn’t really exist at all. Why else are 1 in 5 women on ‘antidepressants’ and 90% of ‘schizophrenics’ on ‘antipsychotics’?

Great paper about what ‘the medical model’ is, as opposed to just a stick to beat psychiatry with. psychiatrymargins.com/p/people-are-s…

What do the Milgram experiments inform us about human behavior? A frightening high number of ordinary people can become complicit in inflicting pain and even causing the death of another human. All it takes is the pretense that the experiment is for science (a social good), and…

Highly sensitive people, those who experience their emotions intensely, have super powers. They are attuned to the energy around them. They have to learn how to harness this super power. Modern medicine will give you a bullshit label & attempt to drug you. They are dangerous

The only reason people swear by psychiatric drugs is because they have no idea what their true potential is. Brainwashed, indoctrinated and drugged into apathy, passivity and sedation is not nor will it ever be treatment.

Antidepressants can ruin lives without people even realizing it.
