This cuts deep. Shame on him. May he watch this clip and observe that look on his own face as he leaned casually on that fence spraying a defenseless woman. May he realize his own inner poverty. My heart breaks for this woman (and others!) being de-humanized while so vulnerable.
Collier Gwin, owner of Foster Gwin art gallery in San Francisco, hosed down a homeless Black woman. There's a history of racist white people water hosing Black people. It's cold and wet in the Bay, yet he did this disgusting and violent act with a confident look on his face.

I read many artist statements. My advice is keep it simple. Write how you talk; maybe share how you knew you were an artist; never oppose the words nature & culture: or say your work “can’t be put into words;” or that it’s a “problemizing” or “troubling” of anything. Do it today!
