This is fundamentally the waste of a reusable building part of the local heritage. Retaining a facade and demolishing the rest of the building is not what is needed. We need to be reusing buildings not releasing carbon. Commiserations to @SCockburnPrice @knitboy

My colleague, @knitboy, & I ventured into the Lions’ Den (otherwise known as The Exec) @PendleBC to speak for the retention of Trafalgar House. The LibDems fought for total demolition, but the Indies held sway, so the front portion will be retained and the rest sadly, flattened.

Temple Works Mill is a Top Ten Endangered Building from 2011. The loss of this funding to create a British Library in the North would be bad news for both this great landmark and for #Yorkshire. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/… #Leeds #TopTen11 #Endangeredbuilding #listedbuilding

Sensitive reuse would be welcome.

Sheffield City Council has completed a deal to acquire the former Salvation Army Citadel. The iconic building, on Cross Burgess Street, has stood in the city centre for well over a century.
