At the end of October, around the time the election was called and Tim Houston was throwing around promises left and right, people like me who get disability income assistance got this notice in the mail with our monthly notification of how much of that support was clawed back.
As Chris (@TheSilentG) says, folks with disabilities are highly scrutinized by disability income assistance, and the “clawbacks” discourage folks from getting freelance, part-time, or “gig economy” work that can vastly fluctuate from month to month. We can do better. #NSpoli
I don’t understand why disabled people are scrutinized this much just for needing extra help to get by. This is just a taste of the red tape labyrinth, all designed to justify giving as little help as possible to the people who need it most.
