Finsihed my reports today🎊

My favourite thing about teaching is that every day pupils say or do something that genuinely makes me laugh. And I suspect that most jobs don’t have that.

TEACHERS, LIBRARIANS, PARENTS, here's the next #giveaway! I have accumulated so many awesome books, but I can’t keep them all 😩📚 so I’m giving away 15 bundles over Twitter, Insta & my e-newsletter. 😎 Includes a poster & stickers from my own books! Just FOLLOW & RT by 11/30.

This wasn’t today but this week- I mentioned my parents in a conversation with a child in my class and his response was ‘I didn’t know teachers had parents?’

What was the most fun thing that happened in your day?

Many folk believe that we are living in a golden age of children’s literature. Huge numbers of talented authors are producing exciting, diverse, funny, challenging, & engaging stories, for tots to teens. Please @asda, could you look at stocking a slightly broader range than this?

Make sure you don't just get a handful of books by black authors to show your support black history month: make sure your shelves are properly diverse and representative all year round instead and that human history is taught from multiple viewpoints. Be inclusive, not tokenistic

I saw this online showing when each current year last had a full year in school. I don’t know if it is just me but these gaps are very obvious with my class this year, waaay more than my class last year. Anyone else? #edutwitter

Just out of curiosity, when do you teach hyperbole to children? Like which year group have you taught it to before? (If you have)

I gasped when I saw these photos. I literally gasped. Stunning artwork by Brazilian artist, Fábio Gomes Trindade.

I found this world map rug in H&M and I think it’s a perfect fit for my book corner. Defo a fab classroom find I can use for years 🎉😍 #edutwitter

🧵 🧵🧵🧵 If you’re reading about Afghanistan and feeling sick and helpless about the unimaginable situation people there are facing, now would be a good moment to donate to a refugee-supporting charity. I’m putting together some links. Take your pick. Give what your can.

Birthday and graduation breakfast this morning 🎉👩🏼‍🎓

Here’s another smash hit of terrible advice from my favourite behaviour management book.
