I can’t imagine what the @WFP team in #Gaza is going through. The incredible colleagues I worked alongside in Palestine are risking their lives to get food to desperate people - fighting hunger while being displaced. They continue to be my heroes. Humanitarians are #NotATarget
Great to visit Alshalfouh bakery in #Jabalia again this week & see the impact on the ground. Many people I met outside told me this bread is the only thing they had to eat that day. We continue our efforts but it’s essential for commercial fresh food to enter northern #Gaza.

Great to spend time with our remarkable @WFP teams in Jerusalem, #WestBank & #Gaza, who move mountains every day to get food and life-saving assistance to Palestinians in need. Many work in near impossible conditions, risking their lives. Deep respect and gratitude.

Bread is a staple which was absent for over 7 months in north #Gaza during the war due to a severe lack of wheat flour & other ingredients. This week, @WFP is supporting Alshalfouh bakery to operate again, making bread available for thousands of people in #Jabalia.
My message at #ActionforGaza in Jordan yesterday: WFP is doing all we can to deliver for the people of Gaza. Our hot meals and support to bakeries have made a difference in the north. But hunger is now returning to the south. We need safe and unhindered access across the strip.
