This already exists - niche social networks (communities) have solved this problem through social technology rather than code.

I think there will be a second wave of social networks that are explicitly designed to suppress trolls instead of treating this problem as an afterthought, just as there was a second wave of operating systems that were explicitly designed to be secure.



Tried finding talent through Somewhere/Shepherd and @oceans_xyz - combined it took them several weeks to send us one unqualified candidate for a simple role. Our team found a basic job board for the same thing that isn’t Twitter famous - scheduled 7 interviews immediately.


Seeing this across all of our communities. Energy around immersive in-person experiences and more passive ‘ambient’ community. Everything in the middle is less appealing.

It feels like there’s a renaissance of in-person community experiences right now. Just my bubble or are you seeing this too?

Community people love to say the word “community” is overused. I disagree. Great communities should be 100x more common.


This is smart. Producing great content for a specific audience gives you insight, feedback, and amazing distribution. I expect to see more of this from niche media, communities, etc. A spin on the "audience co-founder"
