Every Sydney Station

@Sydney_Stations

A personal nerdy project to document the look and feel of every station on Sydney Trains, Metro & Ferries. Also other transit & urban things. Just some nerd.

As I've run out of "suburban" stations that aren't active construction sites, I'm venturing into the Intercity network. Because I'm insane. These serve the towns and cities around Sydney, both for longer-distance journeys and suburban services for Newcastle and Wollongong. (1/4)

This outrage is over a cafe being allows "to serve food and drinks from a rear window" and build a small platform with no tables or chairs allowed. People are acting like they're building a Westfield.

.@IWCouncil decides to ignore the majority and allow the commercialisation of Camperdown Memorial Park. It’s another example of how removed this council has become from the community. abc.net.au/news/2024-11-1…

Thanks Jeff. Agree with your idea to shut down Melbourne and focus on Sydney. The SRL would be a real winner in a growing global economic powerhouse like Sydney. But as the Vic Liberals say, Melbourne isn't that. 😘

Vic govt continuing to sign contracts for the Suburban Rail Link condeming Victoria to higher debt, for a project no business plan has been released, and very few will use. Economic and social stupidity. Services will continue. to decline It is suicidle for Victoria

I've had 100s of new followers on Bluesky in the last few days. Every time I open the app there's another 10 or 20

LISAROW, 88km from Central, is a small station serving low-density suburbia and industry. It's basically the same as the previous stations on the line, with 2 platforms, a footbridge with lifts and some basic shelters. The local shops are 10min walk away, not awful but not ideal.

On-vehicle bus lane enforcement cameras is one American transit idea we could really use here.

our bus lane enforcement pilot with LADOT begins today! 📷 on buses capture pics of vehicles illegally parked in bus lanes/stops. first 60 days: vehicle owners get warnings. after that: citations❗ not doing this to be meanies. Doing this to improve 🚍 service.

How your city uses space - and whether it chooses to prioritise people - is a question of leadership, good design and funding. (Top: Castlereagh St in Sydney before, middle: the proposal, bottom: how it turned out!) Via @FionaBike

The west end of Hunter Street is now closed to cars for construction of the new station. If council gets its way, it'll never reopen to cars again.

A missed opportunity to rationalise the weird corridors from Museum Station to Park St? Could at least have stairs from Castlereagh St. But the dead foodcourt here closes by 6pm and TfNSW close the station entrance nights and weekend, so it was never really that useful anyway.
