Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub will beat the record for the longest spaceflight on board of ISS, held previously by Sergey Prokopiev, Dmitry Petelin and Francisco Rubio (371 days). Oleg and Nikolai’s flight will last 374 days, they will return to Earth on #SoyuzMS25 on Sept. 23.

The Soyuz 2.1 rocket with the Soyuz MS-26 spacecraft on board was installed at the launch site 31 at the Baikonur cosmodrome. Backup crew comsonaut Sergey Ryzhikov, Alexei Zubritsky and NASA astronaut Jonathan Kim visited the site to view the rocket.

Yesterday was the second day of complex training for exams for the backup crew MKC-72. The backup crew experienced some emergency situations during their work.

Cosmonaut Sergey Ryzhikov reported to the members of the examination committee about his readiness to begin training and pulled out a ticket, which indicated emergency situations that were possible during the "flight" on the ship.

The backup crew MKC-72 start the complex training for exams that will last 2 days. This is the most important stage of preparation on the Soyuz spacecraft simulator and on the simulators of the Russian segment of the International Space Station.

Russian cosmonaut Denis Matveev has left the cosmonaut squad. He flew to space once, on #SoyuzMS21, spent 194 days on the ISS and was a participant of 4 EVAs. He will continue to work at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center and will focus on training new cosmonauts.
