Finally caught my breath enough to post after the fantastic #ACBSWC conference, where I presented on women's leadership, dissemination through popular media, and belonging/transcending self. Best part: catching up with old friends (in person!) and meeting new ones!

My lab makes it a point to share our values and goals at the start of each semester. This way, we are able to understand, honor and celebrate one another to the best of our ability. How do you foster a values-based work environment?

How to experience an emotion as a wave:  1. Step back and notice it. 2. Let it flow, knowing that it will ebb. 3. Don't fight, block, or hold onto it. 4. If you must do something with it, breathe into it.

Do not forget to treat yourself with kindness. We often are our own (relentless &) hardest critics. Show yourself love and compassion

Something I have thought about a lot lately is how hard I have been on myself for what I have not done, and not acknowledged all I have done and hope to do

I am starting this twitter, as I truly believe that you can make a positive difference just by sharing a tweet that will eventually find its way to someone that needs it. Knowledge is free and I hope to make this an accessible place to receive beneficial information

Though not definite, I also hope to create a blog where I speak about my graduate school experience, how I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my daily life, and help communicate relevant research I find interesting or helpful!

I hope this twitter can serve as a resource, where I can share useful strategies to help alleviate anxiety and promoting self-compassion and mindfulness!
