I didn't know there was a new ISO standard for plain language. (Thanks @efnishonnudur) Now, how to get hold of a copy? It's not cheap. iso.org/standard/78907…
The scary thing is most medical information is inaccessible to dyslexics. Almost every medical letter I get has blocks of text, words underlined, too much information and hidden reference numbers.
Has anyone seen a good example of a long description (text description) for a bar chart or table, please? I've seen lots of guidance about making charts and tables accessible but I'm looking for a real, live example. Or a real example of a long description for a complex image?
Absolutely horrified to learn that some accessibility overlay tools actively work to hide errors found by WAVE.
As an example, this page has 361 detectable errors in its default state. However, when WAVE is activated, UserWay manipulates the page content to make all text black on white, give all images alt="image", etc. resulting in 0 WAVE errors.
How important is a collaborative cross-government design community that encourages sharing thoughts, problems and solutions? For the @GOVUK Design System, it's very important. Here's how the team approached updating their contribution model: designnotes.blog.gov.uk/2023/05/31/ite…

This is important stuff. Please let us know what you think.
We are proposing a new NHS digital design principle to consider the environmental impact of our products and services at the NHS. We'd like your feedback on the two options. #NHSPrinciple #sustainability #designprinciples link.medium.com/KWXp0mUQVwb
Hope someone is changing this letter.
Was recently sent for a battery of tests. Got this in the post this morning. Whilst grateful for the overall message (& for the NHS), maybe someone, somewhere could rework the first sentence (if it's from a pro-forma letter) as in its current form it scared the crap out of me.😦
