Join us this Friday at The Grill located at 3300 San Mateo Blvd NE starting at 6:30 pm!
Did you know? The Southwest Community Radio System is now more than 1000 members strong!
It’s Sunday.... Net Day! Early check ins begin at 15:30 in AZ and 16:30 in NM. Regular net starts at 16:00AZ/17:00NM with a special guest Net Control Operator! #gmrs #net
Remember: radio work is more than merely “hobby”, and certainly not to be dismissed as only “for old men”, it’s for everyone. It’s a community extension, providing a community service and connection. Not just for emergencies, but interconnectivity, and vital communication.
Happening soon: the SWCRS weekly net begins in 10 minutes with early check ins. Tune in! #gmrs #net.
Gather the kiddos and join the fun! Kid’s Net is tonight at 6:00pm (5:00pm in AZ) ! Topic is “What is your favorite camping activity?” Charlotte, WRZJ534 will be hosting. Thank you Charlotte! #gmrs #kids #net
swpc.noaa.gov/news/media-adv… FYI. We don’t anticipate any effects on the SWCRS network due to the solar activity, however the HF bands will almost certainly be effected.
Happy Friday! The network is in wide-area mode until midnight!
After some much needed rest and relaxation, the Sandia 675 simulcast system is feeling much better. All systems are back to normal. Thanks for your patience.
Albuquerque area users: The Sandia 675 simulcast system has temporarily fallen ill and is in stand-alone mode. The East Mountain Canyon 700 repeater remains fully functional and linked.
In case you missed it, the Rio Chama near Chamita rose above Action Stage early this morning and is expected to remain above Action Stage through next week. Elevated and cold water flows are due to snow melt. A Flood Advisory remains in effect for the area. #nmwx
Update: The stranded motorist is safe. Special thanks to Rachel, WRQC436 ; Adam WRZJ534 and the rest of the priority watch team for a job well done! Please resume normal Funky Friday traffic!
Happening now: the priority watch team is assisting a stranded motorist who is beyond cell coverage. Please limit traffic at this time.
It’s #WorldAmateurRadioDay Did you know? The SWCRS is active on amateur radio Winlink and DMR! Visit SWCRS.org for for info
