Today SDLP Youth took over the election bus and went to West Belfast to campaign for Paul Doherty.🕊 These are just a few of the reasons we’re voting for the SDLP. Let’s build. Our vision of the future is for everyone.🌹 Get involved today. Vote SDLP on May 5th. #PeopleFirst
Drink spiking is a horrendous crime and reports are increasing. Updated legislation to make it a standalone criminal offence shouldn’t be delayed by Stormont - we should cooperate with Westminster to make it happen. I’ve asked both governments to work together.
Colum Eastwood has welcomed confirmation from the British Home Office that officials are engaging with the Department of Justice on plans to introduce a standalone criminal offence of drink spiking. derryjournal.com/news/crime/dis…

Last week SDLP Youth hosted a very successful panel discussion on night time safety. We discussed what the executive needs to do to tackle spiking, how education must improve to end violence against women and girls and many more important topics. Thank you to everyone involved!

Great to speak at the @IEFNI fringe event at #SDLP24 conference at the weekend! Integrated education is something I’m incredibly passionate about. 📚 If we want to realise the ambitions of the GFA we need to see all parties engage on this topic & strive for change 🙌🕊️

Ahead of our debates today on mental health, @SDLPlive took time to visit the Mental Health Action Policy Group. An essential network, that is providing support, where the Executive has failed to do so ➡️ #MentalHealthMatters
Great to see @ColinSDLP speaking out about the importance of mental health services in Northern Ireland. Effective mental health support saves lives and it is crucial that the Executive provide the funding and strategy necessary to allow these services to exist. ❤️🕊️
This Opposition Day we are putting a focus on the state of mental health provision in Northern Ireland. The warm words from the Executive need to be matched by cross-departmental approach in place with clear targets and objectives to improve mental health services.
Fantastic day at QUB Freshers Fair last Thursday! So great to see so many enthusiastic politically minded young people! Follow @QUBSDLP to stay up to date with their events this year! 🕊️🌹
On thursday we will be at @QUBelfast freshers fair in the Mandela Hall at the QUB SU! Come say hi and have a chat with some of our student and elected reps about our vision for a New Ireland and our Social Democratic values! 🌹🕊️ @SDLPlive @SDLPyouth
Delighted to attend the @Votesat16NI conference today alongside @MatthewOToole2 @SDLPlive remains committed to expanding the right to vote to all who contribute to our society - this must include 16- and 17-year-olds! 🗳️ 🙌
The SDLP Opposition is today launching an ambitious ‘Plan for Change’, setting out a vision and priorities for the remainder of the mandate – while challenging the Executive to set clear targets and ambitions rather than vague aspirations.
The public deserves clear targets in the Programme for Government. Sadly this document is light on substance, and fails to mention key areas including the establishment of an independent Environmental Protection Agency and the appointment of an Irish Language Commissioner.
Following the close of nominations, @ClaireHanna has received the required support from SDLP Branches and Support Groups. A motion to ratify Claire as the next SDLP Leader will be tabled before members at the Annual Conference on 5th October. Join us - sdlp.ie/join_the_team
