Rereading Hardt and Negri's (2000) Empire in today's context. Seems the communicative barriers of yesteryear have dissolved.
I paid Mohela last month. They send me a bill this month saying I didn't paid. I have the transaction in my bank account that says I did before last month due date. Thank you @StrikeDebt organizers for keeping pressure on these maleficence-riddled people and orgs..
Full hearing of HB275 in Maryland House (starts at 2:22:00) youtube.com/watch?v=3HRqiI…
WHAT?!?! You all have helped us send over 1,500 emails to Maryland state legislators in the last few days. New goal: can you get us to 2,000 before end of the week? Let's do this. Share. Share. And re-share!
Big week! Hearings for our (+ @FSE_UMD) collective bargaining bill (SB0247/HB0275) are on Tues & Thurs. We need to FLOOD MD legislators, especially its leadership, w/ emails to show the strength of support for it. Do it here, do it now, and share! actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-m…

Not exactly how I wanted the week before classes to go. When foggy brain dissipates on to @lportwoodstacer guide.
Putting out link to @UICUF strike fund here. Several @UICUF faculty members may be in vulnerable financial and medical situations and may need assistance. Thank you for your #solidarity #commongood #careforeachother #community spotfund.com/story/a89b53a5…
Moving out of the gilded age, MD public university faculty push for right to collective bargain. Add your name in support. Thanks! actionnetwork.org/petitions/supp…
Wow! Natural scientist doing poor social science blocks sociologist for pointing it out in the most benign way. Mann cites public opinion data against the art vandalism for climate justice. I point out public opinion may not be the best thing to guide action as seen in MLK Jr.
Two most important books in the last year. Putting them in conversation with one another should be a graduate class in itself.
Great books on Escape from Above. Escape from Below. One day I'll write a book on Escape from the Middle. #offgrid.

Reading @raycraib Adventure Capitalism (218) after finishing @davidgraeber and @davidwengrow Dawn of Everything (132-133) has some interesting and uncomfortable overlap.
Oh boy, what have I got myself into. Thanks @AKPressDistro for the delivery of Adventure Capitalism with swag and a note. Exit just got a lot more complicated.
Finishing Graeber and Wengrow's Dawn of Everything today. It's been an amazing trip with colleagues as our semester-long book club comes to an end.
Just finished Elite Capture by @OlufemiOTaiwo Great example of applying sociology (structure/ agency). Clear language, easy metaphors, empowering historical cases, and not long. Could be supplemental text in Intro Soc.
