*** New Paper Alert *** I’m excited to share that my paper “Spending and Happiness: The Role of Perceived Financial Constraints", in collaboration with @EeshaSharma and Gavan Fitzsimons, has been accepted for publication in @JCRNEWS: doi.org/10.1093/jcr/uc…. A 🧵 1/11

So disappointed by @United Changing my return flight would cost me $1,700 in "fare differences", but booking the same flight as a separate one-way ticket costs $1,200. Spent 1h on the phone with a customer rep whose only response was "it's the system". Incredibly frustrating!

Just finished rereading "The Undoing Project" and enjoyed it even more now. So many great insights about how to do science. One of my favorite quotes from the book : "good science is to see what everyone else can see but think what no one else has ever said.”

Worth reading or rereading: The Undoing Project, about Danny Kahneman and Amos Tversky, by the amazing Michael Lewis. It's astonishingly good, and hilarious, and quite moving. amazon.com/Undoing-Projec…

Very interesting work showing a surprising finding: most people overlook the fact that affluent consumers have a higher ecological footprint than those with lower income do.

🚨 It's well-documented that the wealthy harms the environment much more than those at the bottom at the pyramid. This may seem intuitive: affluence boosts consumption, which requires more resources and emissions. ❓But do people notice this huge ecological footprint inequality?

Really nice paper just accepted in JCR. An important read for anyone designing experiments.

Woke up to the good news that our paper (w/ @nreinholtz) on group sequential designs is accepted at @JCRNEWS ! Want to learn more about designing more efficient and more informative studies? This blog post summarizes the key insights from our paper: quentinandre.net/post/more-effi…
