We were once told the Bible taught white people were superior to black people; a mistake & a sin. A mistake in understanding the text, a sin because it created untold & ongoing suffering. Today some claim the Bible opposes LGBT people; a mistake & a sin for the very same reasons.
Can anybody enlighten me? Are there any other jobs where you can bully people, trap a staff member in a room & expose yourself to them, then walk away with a six-week paid break & not be sacked or prosecuted? I've experienced something similar & this sh!t has me livid. 🤬

I profoundly disagree with the Home Secretary's speech about asylum and multiculturalism, her characterisation of Leicester, and of those seeking refuge in the UK. I am immensely proud to be Bishop of this diverse, creative and vibrant city.

The next ten years of the Church of England are going to be defined by how it uses its money. From how it invests its money to how it uses the corporate assets that generates. We can be defined by polishing the shiny shiny things or investing in those in poverty.
If we really want to reduce inequality and build a society of opportunity for every child, then why are schools reduced to having to hold bake sales and summer fairs in order to try to pay for books and other educational essentials? A society always invests in what it values.
