Getting rid of election signs? Paper ones can be recycled. PLASTIC ones go into the GARBAGE, so consider #reuse! Turn old signs into posters and reuse the metal poles to hold up your growing veggies. What other ways can you reuse your old election signs and poles?

If you have old carpet or rugs, bring them to the Shoreway Transfer Station at 333 Shoreway Road in San Carlos. Carpet dropped off here will have the chance to be recycled and kept out of a landfill. For a full list of accepted drop-off items, visit: southbaysideindustries.com/transfer.

Don't get tricked this Halloween! Film plastic wrappers (including bioplastics) should be placed in the landfill bin, regardless of what the label says. If you're searching for a low-waste Halloween candy option, look for the candies packaged in small paper boxes!

Reduce waste this Halloween and choose reusable trick-or-treat bags! Find some cute ones sold at the store like pictured or opt to make your own with what you have at home. #reduce #reuse

Need to get rid of some shredded paper? Don't throw it directly in the recycle bin! Instead, put it in a paper bag, label it as "shredded paper," then place it in your recycle bin. You can also just put it directly in your compost bin!
