I speak, my story speaks, to the horrific intersection of anti-gun hate, a mental health system that doesn't give a damn and a government gone berserk. That's how I ended up like this. That's how others will too.

I found this on YouTube. It's a ridiculously rosy view of psychiatric hospitalization. But I think it's important to know that as time ticks by we get increasing representation on the world stage. youtu.be/xAlV1hsdPB4?si…

I'd just like to say to everyone on psychotropics or in therapy, remember to vote. Neither party in America supports patients' rights but a big part of why they don't is because we aren't reliable voters.

Why the fuck do posts like this get ignored but there are thousands of accounts whose whole schtick is "Yay, medication!" and they get thousands of retweets?

How can I tell my son things will get better when he is still in restraints? He is hurting and in pain. I am a mother who has been shut out of his life, even though he says I am the most important person in his life. An LD specialist for Scotland has no feeling and has ignored my…

This is a fairly common practice with 'Mental Health Professionals' on Long Island. My adoptive parents sold me throughout my childhood. I acted out due to the abuse so their solution was to drug and medicate me into sedation. The psychiatrist overseeing my 'Care' was selling…

No. Put “Never Went to Therapy” on my gravestone.

There are alternatives to 988. Alt2Su are small, peer run groups where no one is ever reported, no matter what. Records are not even kept, and first names are often used alone. toivocenter.org/alternatives-t…

There are people who are homeless and take psychiatric medication. Can you imagine that? You sleep on a park bench but psychiatrists still require you to take medication. Drugs that cost thousands of dollars per month but they can't put a roof over your head. Priorities.

You see that needle in my profile banner? That's what you get if you refuse psychiatric medication in this day and age. There are no protections. You do not have rights. But it shouldn't be that way.

I am proudly #antipsychiatry. How about you?

Rates of psychiatric disability, psychotropic prescription, psychiatric hospitalization and even suicide have been skyrocketing for decades in America. Unless there is some sort of massive, secret underlying cause, the most likely reason for this is that the cure is the disease.

If you monitor news in many states like I do, you see GOP cracking down on unhoused people in some, Dems cracking down in others, while both parties criticize each other for "failing" on homelessness. And both propose the same "new approach"--doubling down on the failed approach.

I really wish that at least one of the two parties would be willing to advocate for those with mental health disabilities, but it's just not the case. For example, here in New York State when AOT legislation comes up for renewal everyone votes for it. Republican and Democrat.

You should delete this. What's the matter with you people? You bang on about mental health *stigma*, and then post something like this! Ffs. Have a word with yourselves.

That's not a bad take, that's truth. @justin_garson is speaking up for survivors.

I spoke out in college about what was going down there and they took everything from me. I'm still here though.

I don’t care if someone is eating out of the trash can and identifies as a pigeon, absolutely no one should be compelled to take psych drugs or any other type of medication against their will under any circumstances. What goes into your body must be up to you.

Have you ever heard of MindFreedom International and their Shield program? They do letter, email and phone call campaigns to try and get people out of psych wards. Believe it or not they often succeed. mindfreedom.org/shield/
